As we begin the holiday season my wish is that all of us will find that quiet place in our hearts and minds where we can retreat from the demands and frenzy that swirl around us this time of the year. Remember our troops deployed around the world with cards, books, and notes of support and cheer. I wish you a healthy, prosperous and productive new year filled with promise and, most of all, magic. In that spirit I wish to share with you a poem written by my dear friend, Linn Chu Lavin. Blessed grace descends and ascends and I remember ... how to feel, why I am here, why you are here ... A moment of intimacy — an open heart — breathes new life into being. Meaning and clarity rise above chaos. For Love’s sake alone, all else does not matter. Love of Self and love of all ‘Other,’ both go hand in hand. It is all that we have, it is all that we need. When Love fills our Spirit, the rest falls into place. Deafening hollowness and darkness fade, Jubilant chords of Life resound, Love and Light radiate through all you see, through all you feel ... Embrace the magic of a moment and — one by one — in each its quiet glory, we claim our lives. ... and in these cycles of becoming and of beauty, with thanks-giving and special purpose, our Hearts can smile...
